Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website operated by Hands to the Fatherless Ministries ("HFM", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.

These Terms apply to all visitors, donors, subscribers, volunteers, and anyone else who accesses or uses the Site.

About HFM

Hands to the Fatherless Ministries is a registered non-profit organisation based in Kampala, Uganda, operating under the Uganda NGO Bureau. Our mission is to serve orphaned and vulnerable children through education, healthcare, vocational training, spiritual formation, and community empowerment.

Our website is operated for the purpose of sharing our mission, receiving donations, and connecting supporters with our work. It is not operated for commercial gain.

Use of This Website

Permitted use

You may use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes including learning about HFM, making a donation, subscribing to our newsletter, submitting an enquiry or volunteer application, and sharing our content on social media with attribution.

Prohibited use

You must not:

• Use this website for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our website or systems
• Transmit any harmful, offensive, or malicious content through any form on this site
• Reproduce, copy, or redistribute our content for commercial purposes without written permission
• Impersonate HFM or its staff or misrepresent your relationship with us

Donations

Nature of donations

All gifts made to HFM are voluntary charitable donations. By making a donation, you confirm that the funds are yours to give and that you are not acting under duress or deception.

Use of funds

Donations are used to fund our programmes in Uganda as described on this website. Where you designate a gift to a specific cause (e.g. Education, Healthcare), we will honour that designation. In exceptional circumstances where a designated programme is discontinued, we will redirect your gift to the closest equivalent programme and notify you where possible.

Refund policy

Because donations are charitable gifts and are often deployed quickly to the field, we are generally unable to offer refunds. However, if you believe a donation was made in error (e.g. a duplicate charge, an incorrect amount, or a technical fault), please contact us within 14 days at info.handsthfm@gmail.com and we will consider your request on a case-by-case basis.

Receipts

We will send a donation acknowledgement to the email address you provide. This acknowledgement is our record of your gift but may not constitute a tax receipt valid in your country. Please consult a tax adviser in your jurisdiction if you need a formal tax deduction certificate.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, photographs, design, graphics, logos, and the website code itself — is the property of Hands to the Fatherless Ministries or its contributors, and is protected by applicable copyright law.

You may share links to our website and share our content on social media for non-commercial purposes, provided you clearly attribute HFM as the source. You may not reproduce substantial portions of our content, use our photographs, or copy our design without our written permission.

Children's Safeguarding

HFM is deeply committed to the safety and dignity of every child we serve. We have a safeguarding policy that governs all interactions between staff, volunteers, and children in our care.

Visitors must not contact, photograph, or interact with any children mentioned or pictured on this website except through HFM's formally approved programmes.
